Biography

Playing clubs, festivals, warehouses & beyond, Stella Maise has taken the North by storm! Her hard-hitting, nostalgic, genre fluid mixes and theatric stage presence (inclusive of live vocals), culminates an infectious energy you'll never forget. She is unapologetically one of a kind.

  • Stella spins a vast collection of genres, typically adhering a set’s direction of sound towards who I am playing alongside/ genre requested by the event she is playing! Each set she curates is one of its own, individually customized to the vibes.

Dubstep - Deep Wubs, Riddim, Melodic, 140, Tearout.

DnB - Dancefloor, Jungle, Neurofunk, Jump Up, Liquid.

Dancey Bass - Electro, Gabber, Hardcore, Techno

Goth (yes, goth sets on request!) - Darkwave, Post Punk, Industrial, EBM

  • Raised in the Greater Toronto Area by 90s' ravers, Stella Maise was deep into the alternative dance music scene from the get-go. Her mother influenced her taste in Drum & Bass, Jungle, Dubstep, Electro, and also rock genres such as grunge and metal.

In her teens, Estella got more independently involved in the local hardcore punk and underground music scene of Toronto, where she'd discover her love for moshpits and manic crowds. As Stella got older, she became more attracted to 2 polar opposite styles: Goth and Happy Hardcore, this broadened her taste and gave way to Stella's distinctiveness for ambitious mixing and genre-bending crossovers.

Her history formed an extremely widespread collection of sound that remains unique, inspiring, and refreshingly open-minded. Her sound is heavily curated individually for each event she plays, leaving room for surprises & deep cuts.

  • Stella has made quick waves, with residencies at clubs and multiple Toronto rave organizations, such as Supersexe Disco. Adding to her portfolio, she's played sold-out shows in Montreal and Toronto, notably spinning at REBEL, History, NOMAD, the iconic Opera House. Additionally, she's played New York, Vancouver and headlined her first show in London.

She will be playing VELD Music Festival this 2026! Very exciting.

She has been support for artists such as Subtronics, Levity, ATliens, Bassvictim, YDG, EPTIC, Witching Hour, Technopagan, FlapJack, Vicious.

  • To confine myself to a box, or singular genre, would take away greatly from who I am as an artist. My entire life has been surrounded by beautiful, diverse soundscapes- all these genres make up the Frankenstein’s monster of a music taste I currently have, and hold close to my heart.

  • On top of all this, Stella serves as the current Chair for the Electronic Album of the Year Award at the Canadian JUNO Awards for the 2026 & 2027 season.

Additionally, she served as committee/Co-Chair in the Electronic category for over 2 years. Not too bad for a young blood like herself.

Production + Performing Live

Producing

Stella has written songs since childhood, and began her independent production journey in 2025. Producing Dubstep, DnB & Jungle on Ableton Live, her music is rooted in deep storytelling, often reflecting experimental, emotionally driven melodies and lyricism.

Live Vocals

On top of producing her own tracks, Stella writes the lyrics and records the vocals on her own tracks, performing live vocals when opportune. An element that elevates her sets to a new hybrid set potential.

First Release - Eyes Of Salt

A Liquid DnB track produced + recorded by Stella Maise.

Heavy Synths, pounding basslines and haunting vocals- it encompasses the emotional depth Stella is able to achieve in her work.
